History

Allied Physicians of Michiana has been providing a full range of management and business services to leading physician practices since 1997. Although some of our affiliated offices are located near or are connected to one of the area hospitals, the majority of our physicians have privileges at both Memorial Hospital of South Bend and Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. The doctors at General & Vascular Surgery's Elkhart office and the Institute for Orthopedic and Nerve Surgery have privileges at Elkhart General Hospital.

• As the name suggests, the physicians at General & Vascular Surgery perform both types of surgical procedures as well as colonoscopies. They have offices in both South Bend and Elkhart.
• Houser-Norborg-MacGregor Medical Group has two nurse practitioners in addition to their seven physicians providing gynecological and obstetric services and bone density testing.
• The Institute for Orthopedic and Nerve Surgery joined Allied Physicians in September, 2004. (Each of the other practices in the organization are founding members.) The Institute specializes in joint replacement, arthroscopy and peripheral nerve decompression services as well as general orthopedics.
• ObGyn Associates of Northern Indiana provides gynecological and obstetric services in addition to on-site bone density testing. They expect to add another physician in the spring of 2009.
• Otorhinolaryngology, Inc. has offices in South Bend and Plymouth with four ear, nose and throat doctors; one facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon who also provides aesthetic and medical skin care services; and one allergist. The Hearing Clinic is an affiliate of this office.
• Urology Associates is one of the largest urology practices in the Michiana area and serves patients from infants to seniors. There is also a satellite office in Rochester, Indiana.

In February 2000, Allied Physicians expanded its services by opening an ambulatory surgery center on Carmichael Drive in South Bend at the corner of Douglas Road and SR 23. This center was opened to provide high quality, cost-effective outpatient surgical care in a convenient and comfortable setting.
