Float Billing Representative

General Job Duties:
This position will learn all functions of the billing department in-order to assist on any AR or in any billing role when needed. A few of the job responsibilities are outlined below:
- Assists with working patient accounts that are out tinsurance but no payment has been received
- Follows up on any denials from the insurance company and take appropriate action
- Makes outgoing call to patients, referring physicians, and hospitals about balance on accounts.
- Receives incoming calls to answer questions about balances
- Process and proof adjustment batches and posts daily.
- Sorts and processes incoming mail.
- Works with practices to assist patients with questions on bills.
- Speaks with patients regarding balances owed on their accounts and how they intend to pay. Also sends letters when applicable.
- Assist with posting patient and insurance money; including running of credit cards for authorization
- Assist with processing refunds
- Prepares collection referrals for practice.
- Processes write-off to bad debt according to financial policy.
- Attends workshops, seminars, etc.
