Dr. DelleDonne to Speak at Colorectal Cancer Awareness Event

Dr. Delle Donne, Board Certified Colon & Rectal surgeon, will speak at the Michiana Colorectal Cancer Awareness Network’s 2nd annual colorectal cancer awareness event.  “The Real Story on Guts & Butts” event will offer area residents and professionals education on how to prevent colon cancer, information on screening options, comments from local professionals and testimonials from colon cancer survivors.  Attendees will learn by viewing a giant walk through colon and hearing from local health educators and staff.  A complementary healthy cookbook, snacks and door prizes will be available to all attendees.

Dr. Delle Donne is a General Surgeon with General & Vascular Surgery, a Division of Allied Physicians of Michiana.  The physicians of General & Vascular Surgery are devoted to the surgical treatment of many body systems. Michiana CRAN is a community coalition devoted to promoting the prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer through screening.  Overall, colorectal cancer is the second most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer deaths.  In many cases, colorectal cancer can be prevented through screening and early detections of colon polyps.  Michiana CRAN offers group education, small media and community outreach to help organizations and community groups to learn more about the importance of colorectal cancer screening.
