Hypothyroid and Hyperthyroid- What is the Difference?
Hypothyroid patients have an under active thyroid. Symptoms include but are not limited to weight gain, fatigue, cold intolerance, constipation, hair loss, brittle nails, dry skin, puffy face, hoarse voice, poor concentration, depression and heavy menstrual periods. Hyperthyroid patients have an over active thyroid. Symptoms include weight loss with normal appetite and food intake, rapid or irregular heartbeat, nervousness, irritability, tremor, sweating, more frequent bowel movements, insomnia, and pain in neck, enlarged thyroid and changes in menstrual patterns.
