Job Description

General Job Duties:

The Audiologist is responsible for administering diagnostic audiological tests which currently include hearing testing, tympanograms, acoustic reflexes, OAEs, VNGs, CRTs and other clinical diagnostic tests, as necessary. The Audiologist will provide hearing aid evaluations, selection and fitting for the patients. The Audiologist counsels patients about management and treatment approaches and strategies and reviews options which best meet the hearing care needs of patients.
    General Job Duties:
  1. Completes hearing evaluation for all ages
  2. Administers and interprets comprehensive hearing evaluations which would include tympanograms, acoustic reflexes and OAEs.
  3. Counsels patients and families on results and makes recommendations

  1. Ensure every patient receives a thorough, comprehensive and customized occupational therapy regimen, while receiving a unique experience.
  2. Provide a written and hands on evaluation of incoming patient conditions to determine appropriate physical treatment programs, and consult with referring physicians regarding diagnosis.

  16. Prepares treatments rooms, assists physician with materials, instruments and equipment during exam.
  17. Sterilizes and cleans instruments.
  18. Takes vitals, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature of patients.
  19. Completes paperwork for lab test, x-rays, and referrals as needed.
  20. Calls in prescription refills.
  21. Performs casting/splinting and removal of casts.
  22. Completes forms for physician review and signature.
  23. Provides patient education and counseling.
  24. Performs dressing changes, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vitals.
  25. Observes and maintains records on patient’s care, condition, reaction and progress.
  26. Schedules MRI’s, bone scans, CT scans.
  27. Performs duties of surgery scheduler as necessary/back-up.
  28. Ensures all supplies needed by physician for surgery are ordered
  29. Responsible for ordering all clinical supplies for exam rooms, back office.
  30. Enters surgery into physician’s outlook calendar
  31. Complete and send consult letters for referring physicians
  32. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant school required; 2+ years experience as medical assistant preferred; knowledge of medical terminology required; excellent communication skills.
